Food Monsters is a kids' food brand competing on supermarket shelves against category giants. In a market driven almost entirely by shelf presence, the identity had to do one thing above all: make a child stop, point, and refuse to put it down. Parents could be convinced by the pack copy — kids needed to be won by the characters.
We developed a cast of four original characters — each tied to a product flavour, each with a distinct personality and a visual language designed to scale from a 50mm package label to a shopping bag. The colour system is bold and stratospheric without crossing into visual noise. Typography is playful but legible at small sizes. Every character was designed with extension in mind: stickers, collectibles, brand activations.
Listed in 14 retail chains in the first quarter. The client approved four new character extensions before the first season was even complete.
